Garuda is no decorative bird of paradise. In Hindu mythology, this immense divine being belongs to a world of gods, demons and forces powerful enough to shake the natural order. As the divine mount of Lord Vishnu, he carries the god through the cosmos and serves as a formidable ally in the battles between divine forces. His enormous wings and eagle like form have made him one of Bali's most imposing manifestations of divine power.
