Rangda is what remains when every restraint imposed upon the living world is stripped away. She is hunger without satiety, rage without reason, flesh without dignity and death without silence. Nothing about her promises release. Her presence belongs to the place where civilisation's thin skin splits open and everything buried beneath it claws its way out. She is not an evil to be defeated and forgotten, but a force Bali gives form to because destruction itself is part of the
