Nestled along the banks of the Perfume River in the southwest corner of Hué, King Minh Mạng’s funeral complex was the result of a grand vision and an extensive building program. Guided by the ancient practice of geomancy, which aligns structures with natural forces, the complex was designed to harmonise with the environment, blending the spiritual with the earthly.

The Ubud Royal Palace, known as Puri Saren Agung, is an iconic historical site in Bali, situated in the heart of Ubud. The palace traces its origins to around 1640 when it was first constructed as a residence for a branch of Ubud's royal family. Over time, it evolved into the majestic structure we see today, largely due to the significant contributions of King Ida Tjokorda Putu Kandel during the early 1800s.

Encircled by a wide moat and wrapped in manicured geometric gardens, Pura Taman Ayun looks more like a mythical vision than a temple. This 17th-century royal fortress served as the royal temple of the once mighty Mengwi kingdom and was designed not just to honour the gods but to remind subjects of the divine order that placed kings just beneath them.
